Like to play blackjack? Then check out this unique blackjack variant!

Blackjack is a hugely popular card game that has been around since the beginning of the 17th century. The game is also known as twenty-one and is said to have originated from somewhere in Spain. Blackjack is so popular that it is in fact the most widely playing casino table game in the world and many offshoots of this game have been released throughout the years. 3 Card Blackjack is one such Blackjack variant but with a unique twist.

The game is played with a deck of 52 cards and features an Ace Plus side-bet option.

Special Features

The primary objective of Blackjack is to beat the dealer with a better hand by getting a score of 21 points or reaching a score higher than the dealer without going over 21. The main difference between this game and more conventional Blackjack variants is that it features an Ace Plus side-bet option and does away with options such as splitting, doubling, and surrender. When placing an Ace Plus side-bet, you are betting on a 3 Card Poker hand in addition to your Blackjack hand.

To begin the game, you need to select some chips which can be found in the lower-right corner of the screen. The chips vary in value and if you fancy yourself as a bit of a high roller then the purple chips will be to your liking as each one is worth a whopping 100 a piece! Place your chips in the Ante wager circle and the optional Ace Plus side bet circle. Placing bets in the Ace Plus circle gives you access to a small range of lucrative side-bets. For instance, if you are dealt 3 Aces then the payout is a staggering 100:1! Once you are happy enough with the chips you have placed, then click the ‘Deal’ button to start the game.

The game begins with the player receiving three cards that are face-up and the dealer is given three cards that are face-down except for two of the cards. When the cards are on the table, you are given the option of either raising or folding. If you decide to raise then you must place a raise bet that is equal to your original ante wager. If you decide to fold then you will forfeit the game. The cards are then counted to see who is closer to the 21 point total. If you have a closer hand to 21 points or in fact land 21 points then you will win. If the dealer does not qualify and the player has 21 points then you will be paid 1 to 1 on your Ante bet. It is worth noting that the Dealer only qualifies with 17 or higher and bets pay even money when the dealer qualifies.

If you find you are having some joy with a certain amount of chips then it is possible to reuse the same bet again and again. To do this all you need to do is simply press the ‘Rebet’ button after a round has finished. If you want to get rid of the current bet in play then just click on the ‘Clear Bet’ button.

Theme, Graphics and Sound

The presentation of the game is a little basic when you compare it to the more flashy blackjack games out there but this game is all about the action between you and the dealer and that is what software developer PlayPearls mainly focused on. The game is played out on a silky green felt casino table and the Ace Plus side-bet paytable is neatly displayed on the left-hand side of the screen.

There is no music in the game but you will hear from the Live Dealer as he informs you when to place bets and shouts enthusiastically when you win a round.

Win lines, Payouts and Jackpots

The game is played with a standard 52 card deck and has an RTP ranging between 96% and 97%. The maximum payout is 100:1 when you have three Aces.

Our Verdict on 3 Card Blackjack

3 Card Blackjack is produced by PlayPearls and is a whole new way of playing blackjack. The graphics are a tad dated but do not let that sway you as this game is all about the adrenaline rush of beating the dealer with a better hand. The Ace Plus side-bet is a nice addition to the game and the fact that you can win a 100:1 payout if you have 3 Aces should definitely draw in many a blackjack player to try this game out.
