I’ve been playing quite a bit of roulette lately and thought it might be a good idea to try a different variation of it. So I paid Genting casino a visit to check out their version of French Roulette. This game is a little different to other versions of roulette as it includes the La Partage rule which gives half the money back on even chances bets when the ball lands on the number zero.

Special Features

The first feature worth mentioning is that when you start the game, you can choose from two different game views – 3D view and Classic view. The 3D view was my preferred choice as the table is laid out in a rather isometric view and bets are nicely visible in this mode. The Classic view is more of a top-down approach with the betting table displayed beneath the wheel.

The object of this game is to predict the number on which the ball lands by placing one or more bets that cover your predicted number. The wheel includes numbers from 1-36 as well as the number 0.

Players can choose from inside bets which allow you to select individual numbers, splits: where you can bet on two numbers at the same time and others such as street bet which covers three numbers as well as corner bets where you place your chip at the corner where four numbers meet and all four numbers will be covered. There are also line bets which are where you place your chips at the end of two rows on the intersection between them. Line bets cover all the numbers in both rows, for a total of 6 numbers.
Players can select outside bets which allow you to select column bets, the first 12 numbers, second 12 numbers, and the third set of 12 numbers. Players can also bet red and black as well as even and odd numbers.

Players can also place Tiers du Cylindre, Orphelins a Cheval, Voisins du Zero, Finale en Plein, Finale a Cheval, and Jeu Zero bets. These type of bets cover a variety of selected numbers and sections on the roulette wheel.

You can save your favourite bets by clicking the Favourite Bets button. It’s a cool feature and lets you keep track of your most popular placed bets.
It is also possible to talk to the dealer and other players by using the Chat option. It all adds up to a very interactive experience.

Theme, Graphics and Sound

The presentation of this game exudes class and elegance. The numbers are neatly displayed at the bottom of the game and placing bets is a doddle. As mentioned before, I really liked how you can switch between the 3D and Classic views. This is useful if you are getting bored of the current display and want to look at the game from a different angle. The dealer of the game was called Anna and she was a real pleasure to deal with and she hosted the game in a very professional and friendly manner.

There was no real music to speak of in this game but it was really cool to see a physical roulette wheel spinning and hearing the satisfying sound of the ball as it landed on a number, especially when it was a winning number for me!
