This game was clearly inspired by a certain movie from Disney that contains ahem a few frozen like elements! It is often said that no two snowflakes are the same and thanks to some wizardry from NextGen Gaming, they have managed to use only snowflakes for each of the regular symbols in the game! The game is set in a wintery landscape that delivers a blizzard of excitement coupled with some very frosty rewards.

It is a 5 reel slot with 25 paylines and it includes some rather cool features like Icy Wild, Wild Wind and Frozen Wild free games.

Special Features

The first feature to mention is the Wild symbol and this is depicted by a block of ice with the word “Wild” inscribed across it. It substitutes for all other symbols in the game except the Scatter symbol. If you are lucky enough to land 5 of these symbols across the reels then you will receive a lovely payout of 500 coins.

The next feature that I stumbled across was the Icy Wild mode. This is randomly triggered in the main game and it involves up to 5 symbols transforming into Wild symbols. It is a nice feature but a drawback of it is that only one symbol will turn wild per reel. The Scatter symbol is depicted by a bright glowing snowball. If you land 3 Scatter symbols then you will be given 7 Free Games, 4 symbols will give you 10 Free Games but 5 symbols will give you a whopping 15 Free Games! Any Wild symbol that appears is held for the remaining free games and it is pleasing to see that Free Games can also be retriggered in this feature.

Theme, Graphics and Sound

This game is beautiful to look at and to play. The backdrop of the game features some mountains with a night sky that is blanketed with some sparkling stars. Snow falls slowly in the background and it really immerses you into a snowy winter environment. At one stage, I almost put my coat and gloves on! I have to say that it is really cool that NextGen Gaming decided to use individual snowflakes for each symbol. A stroke of genius there if you ask me and it ties in superbly with the name of this game.

The music is quite mellow with some soft techno beats. It is really soothing on the ears and adds nicely to the tranquil theme of this slot.

Snowflakes is made by NextGen Gaming and it’s a trip to a winter wonderland you won’t forget anytime soon! It looks stunning and it is really easy to play. I enjoyed the two random bonus features in the game and they really help to provide lots of replay value.
