2017-10-04 10:05:42

Betfair have announced that they’ll be extending their sponsorship of two of horse racing’s biggest events, Haydock's Betfair Chase and Sandown’s Tingle Creek. Betfair, which has sponsored the Haydock Chase since 2005 and the Tingle Creek since 2015 is set to extend their sponsorship of both events up to 2019. Both Grade 1 contests take place on Jockey Club Racecourses, the largest racecourse group in the UK with a portfolio of 15 racecourses including Aintree, Epsom Downs and Newmarket. The financial terms of the new agreement have not yet been revealed but both parties were keen to continue the long-running relationship.

A Winning Combination

Announcing the sponsorship renewal Barry Orr, Head of Media at Betfair outlined Betfair’s thinking behind the new deal, he said: “We are once again delighted to back two of the most exciting and iconic races in the National Hunt calendar. This will be the 13th renewal of the Betfair Chase and we are extremely proud to have helped establish the race as a premier target for top chasers and young pretenders alike. It is a race with a rich history which continues to be a strong and sound platform to chasing success.”

Betfair’s continued association with two of the UK’s biggest horse racing events will only further boost the firm’s status as the UK’s premier destination for horse race betting. The company is an authorized betting partner of British Racing and was also the first gambling operator to sign a commercial agreement with Jockey Club Racecourses.
