Children’s Happiness Involves People

CHIPS, Children’s Happiness Involves People, are celebrating the largest ever single donation of their 16-year history thanks to Cashino and the other members of the Praesepe Group. The charity was set up in 2001 on behalf of the Casino and Gaming Industry to raise much-needed funds to purchase specialized wheelchairs for young people with disabilities. CHIPS provides wheelchairs for children who otherwise would have no access to them and since it was established it has raised over £1.75 million and presented over 400 wheelchairs to young people. Every penny that the charity raises goes directly to providing children with disabilities a better quality of life.

A Record Donation

At a special presentation dinner the Chief Executive of the Praesepe Group, the German-owned casino conglomerate of which Cashino is a part of, Nick Harding presented the co-founder of CHIPS Linda Lindsay with a cheque for £170,000, the largest ever single donation that the charity has received. The money had been raised through various fundraising initiatives undertaken by both staff and customers throughout the Praesepe Group including at Cashino’s 150 high street locations and the Beacon bingo clubs. All of the money will go towards creating tailor-made wheelchairs to meet the unique physical and psychological needs of disabled children.
