Lucky Coral punter strikes it rich at Punchestown!

Coral have confirmed that it is the biggest ever horse racing payout in the betting firm's history.

The lucky Coral punter who wishes to remain anonymous said his bet on the horses was a "realisation of a lifetime dream" and that he may never bet again. The winning selections were Das Mooser (10-1), Woodland Opera (9-2), Definite Ruby (7-1), Bacardys (10-1) and Canardier (33-1) had all won. The punter who is in his 40s chose to put these selections in five £3 fourfolds and a £4 fivefold accumulator.

To make the win even more dramatic, the lucky Coral customer did not realise he had struck gold until the following morning after coming in from a night out. The winner told reporters: "I've been placing these accumulator bets pretty much every day for 20 years, and winning this bet is the realisation of a lifetime dream. Over the years I've come close landing a big return a couple of times but kept hitting the woodwork, and now I've done it I feel remarkably calm. I don't know if I'll even carry on betting after this as I feel I've achieved my goal."
