I am a complete novice when it comes to playing the card game Baccarat so I paid Genting casino a virtual visit to give their version of Live Baccarat a bash. I did not know that this is Asia’s favourite card game so I was very curious to find out why it is so popular.

To explain this game in simple terms, it’s a card game that involves placing bets on whether the player’s hand or the banker’s hand is closest to a total of 9. Players can also bet on a tie, just in case the player’s hand and the banker’s hand are exactly the same.

The dealer places two cards each to the player and the banker, one hand is dealt to the player and one to the banker. If you receive an initial two-card hand that is worth 8 or 9 then no additional cards will be dealt to either hand.

It is also worth mentioning the value of the cards, for instance, Aces are worth 1 point and cards ranging from 2 to 9 are worth their numerical card values. 10s and face cards such as jacks, queens and kings are each worth 0 so try to avoid them at all costs!

Players can also place side bets in this game if you use the “Player Pair” bet then the dealer will pay out if the first two cards dealt to the player make up a pair. Alternatively, players can also place a “Banker Pair” bet and this will pay out if the first two cards dealt to the banker make up a pair. The RTP for these kinds of bets is a decent 89.64%.

Theme, Graphics and Sound

The game is presented in stunning HD detail. Bet options are neatly displayed on the bottom of the screen and there is a nice history section that lists all previous bets and rounds.
The dealer of this game was called Olga and she was very welcoming and explained the rules nicely as I played the game.

There was no music to listen to but this is intentional I believe as it creates some drama and suspense as you play against the banker in the game.

Live Baccarat is made by Evolution Gaming and I must admit I really enjoyed playing this game and got the hang of it quite quickly. This game is presented quite stylishly by Genting casino. I liked playing with the friendly dealer and overall it was a really nice interactive experience to take part in. I can see exactly why now this game is so popular among players these days.
